Unfinished Business Television takes a DEEP DIVE into one of the most infamous pop star vehicles of the early 2000s—Glitter, starring Mariah Carey. Released in September 2001 during one of the darkest weeks in American history, we explore the film’s many shortcomings—from its shaky script to Mariah’s shaky acting debut—while also acknowledging its campy charm and growing status as a cheesy guilty pleasure. We look at how Glitter became a pop culture punchline, how timing played a tragic role in its downfall, and whether it deserves a second chance in the age of reappraisal.
