UNFINISHED BUSINESS: DEEP DIVE – JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS (2001)

Before the CW’s Riverdale, there was one live-action trip down Archie’s hometown in Universal’s adaptation of JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS. Unfinished Business TELEVISION takes a DEEP DIVE into this misunderstood musical comedy with Rachel Leigh Cook, Tara Reid, and an up-and-coming Rosario Dawson leading the way. Was it meant for kids or to please teens? Was it the last of a bygone era known as the early 2000s? And who were the pop queens originally considered for Dawson’s role? THE SAXOPHONIST Wins “Director’s Award” at JIFF

This was truly a blessed weekend for THE SAXOPHONIST. In addition to the “Best Director – Drama” win at the Brightside Film Festival, we have also received our latest award from the Jamaica International Faith Film Festival which was held last Saturday in Capitol City Kingston! The film was one of 6 films that earned a “Director’s Award” and we’re pleased to report that our turnout there was between 75-80 people in the audience who loved our film immensely. Our thanks to the beautiful people of Jamaica for this wonderful honor.

THE SAXOPHONIST Wins “Best Director – Drama” at Brightside Film Festival

After two amazing weeks featuring THE SAXOPHONIST at Emerson College, the Creative Arts Night with Moonlight Productions, our Staten Island community center events, yesterday’s Jamaica International Faith Film Fest, and today’s Brightside Film Fest with its wonderful audience reception, it is truly a blessing to be honored with a BEST DIRECTOR award for this truly blessed film. This goes to my brother for life Beavin Lawrence and my incredibly talented cast and crew who made this dream come true. I love you mom and dad and those important in my life today and beyond.
