Last year Jeff Gallashaw and I were privileged to interview legendary filmmaker James Foley who sadly passed away this week. Aside from the amazing work he did directing Madonna’s music videos and the Fifty Shades sequels, we became unlikely pals off the show often sharing funny texts and memes from time to time. My biggest regret besides not meeting him was not recording some really eye-opening stories about his career, friendships with Madonna, Sean Penn, Mark Wahlberg, and others before we did his interview. For the short time I knew Jamie, he gave me some unlikely inspiration as a filmmaker to push forward. Our connection as filmmakers born and raised in New York City is what drove me to make this short but unforgettable connection. Rest in peace Jamie.
