I returned to It’s Just Us Radio Show last night for my 2nd appearance on the show hosted by Charlene Bowden. We discussed the past successes of THE SAXOPHONIST and VENDETTA GAMES, life struggles as a creative during the pandemic, and getting deeply emotional about my approach to my next short film DISMISSAL TIME which starts shooting next month and is still fundraising. When I produced my first feature film PRICELESS back in 2007, I had a party scene with an extra named Zoiea Ohizep from New Rochelle who was invited by another actor. Little did I know at the time that he had a long career as a songwriter and backup singer to such legends as Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore, Atlantic Starr, and so many others. We always discussed making a video to one of his songs and it took years until we finally got around to SUNRISE. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Yesterday, we received notice from Amazon that on June 4th, they will be shutting down the Media on Demand service for good. MOD was our source for submitting and selling physical copies of our past films since PRICELESS back in 2010. With the fast changing climate of the industry as there is greater public demand for digital streaming services, physical media is clearly phasing out.
What does this mean for us? It mean that this will be your last opportunity to purchase DVD and Blu-ray copies of THE SAXOPHONIST, DISHONORABLE VENDETTA, NIGHT STREAM, EVIL SOCIETY, and TEMPTED. All films are available at discounted prices and have special features that you may not get on a streaming service. They are only worth having as collector’s items. The change at Amazon, however, will not affect VENDETTA GAMES which can still be streamed on Prime.
We may look into another physical media distribution outlet in the near future should the demand be there for it. But if you still want to see these movies after June 4th, they are all available on our Vimeo on Demand page and THE SAXOPHONIST can be seen on The BeBop Channel app.

New Jersey’s Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival just released their filmmaker interviews today. This includes a one-on-one conversation with festival programmer Chris “CJ” Cullen and The Saxophonist writer/director Andre´Joseph. You can watch in the YouTube link where the interview starts at the 1:52:07 mark.
The Saxophonist will screen virtually this Saturday in the 7:05-8:26pm block (STREAM 2) where we are nominated for Best Long Short, Best Director, and Best Actor. You can watch all the films for free at hangontoyourshortsfilmfestival.com. You can also see the links on the Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter. The event will be live and you can also make comments to the filmmakers while things are happening.
For those of you who missed it, check out the virtual panel discussion from Staten Island’s Downtown Film Fest from this past summer when director Andre´ Joseph was interviewed by Kevyn Fairchild to discuss THE SAXOPHONIST alongside Emeka Mbadiwe who also screened his amazing film, JAMMED. The film will be virtually screening again FOR FREE this Saturday as part of the Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival in the 7:05-8:26pm block (STREAM 2) where we are nominated for Best Long Short, Best Director, and Best Actor!

This year’s Hang on Your Shorts Film Festival where THE SAXOPHONIST is up for 3 awards will now be all virtual screenings this year. Main screenings will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 for main blocks and sets with what looks like a “live” awards show with special guests. Stay tuned for final details and scheduling.
