New Jersey’s Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival just released their filmmaker interviews today. This includes a one-on-one conversation with festival programmer Chris “CJ” Cullen and The Saxophonist writer/director Andre´Joseph. You can watch in the YouTube link where the interview starts at the 1:52:07 mark.
The Saxophonist will screen virtually this Saturday in the 7:05-8:26pm block (STREAM 2) where we are nominated for Best Long Short, Best Director, and Best Actor. You can watch all the films for free at hangontoyourshortsfilmfestival.com. You can also see the links on the Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter. The event will be live and you can also make comments to the filmmakers while things are happening.
This year’s Hang on Your Shorts Film Festival where THE SAXOPHONIST is up for 3 awards will now be all virtual screenings this year. Main screenings will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 for main blocks and sets with what looks like a “live” awards show with special guests. Stay tuned for final details and scheduling.
We had an amazing morning with some big announcements regarding AMERICAN GUNSLINGERS! First, our recently selected trailer at The Wild Bunch Film Festival has just been announced as a nominee for Best Film Trailer! While we won’t be able to attend in person, those of you in the great state of Arizona can check out our trailer on the big screen Friday, Oct. 2nd in the 8:40pm block at the Willcox Historic Theater in Willcox, AZ. Awards to be announced Sunday, Oct. 4 at 7:15pm. Purchase tickets at the link above.
Our second big announcement is that the AGS original screenplay by Drew Henriksen has just been selected for competition at this year’s Urban Action Showcase International Action Film Festival! This is the same festival where our award-winning feature VENDETTA GAMES won Best Urban Action Film three years ago! This year’s event happening Nov. 6-14 will be a virtual experience and you can find out more about it at the link above or on Facebook.

Our award-winning dramatic short film THE SAXOPHONIST will be screening again as part of Staten Island’s first annual Downtown FilmFest to be held June 11-14th. This will be a virtual screening event for all films and Q&A sessions. Best of all, the screenings are free ticket registration. We’ll have more information about the screening date and links soon. We are seeking talented cinematographers, costume designers, and production managers for our upcoming western feature film, AMERICAN GUNSLINGERS, based on the award-winning screenplay by Drew Henriksen. The story follows 2 brothers of different races tracking down a cache of jewels stolen from their parents’ killers. The project is currently in pre-production for a late spring 2020 shoot in vintage locations set in Staten Island, NY; Long Island, NY; and New Milford, CT. We’re currently scheduling interviews with the potential crew to find the best candidates willing to take this journey with us. We just got word today that the live-action American Gunslingers teaser trailer just got accepted into the 3rd Annual Wavestock Film Festival taking place on Saturday, October 12th at Flagship Brewery in Staten Island, NY! More great news for Vendetta Games as we have been officially selected for the bi-monthly edition of the May-June 2019 Aphrodite Film Awards! The Aphrodite Film Awards (NYCAFA) is a monthly and annual competition based in New York City which celebrates films from all around the world with awards in different categories and genres. We will find out in a matter of days if the film advances to finalist or winner status to be screened in NYC. Fingers crossed!
