UNFINISHED BUSINESS: DEEP DIVE – TRIPPIN’ (1999)

The final DEEP DIVE of 2022’s Unfinished Business TELEVISION is a look back at a literal sleeper high school comedy TRIPPIN’. Directed by David Raynr (Whatever it Takes) and written by Gary Hardwick (The Brothers, Deliver Us from Eva), this summer black counter-programming to AMERICAN PIE was a star vehicle for The Cosby Show’s Deon Richmond and featured early performances from Donald Faison, Guy Torry, Anthony Anderson, and Maia Campbell. Is it as funny as we remembered it? Watch, like, comment, and most importantly SUBSCRIBE!

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: DEEP DIVE – TO DIE FOR (1995)

This week’s DEEP DIVE Unfinished Business TELEVISION is most definitely TO DIE FOR. We look back at Gus Van Sant’s 1995 dark comedy that proved Nicole Kidman was more than Mrs. Tom Cruise. Based on a novel inspired by the infamous Pamela Smart case, TO DIE FOR features an all-star cast of veterans (Matt Dillon, Kurtwood Smith, Dan Hedaya, Holland Taylor) and future Oscar winners (Joaquin Phoenix, Casey Affleck). But do you know the stars they had in mind early in production? Watch, like, comment, and most importantly SUBSCRIBE!

The artwork below is only rough concept art for the look and feel of the project. We will have more news about this and more very soon.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: DEEP DIVE – GOTCHA! (1985)

This DEEP DIVE edition of Unfinished Business TELEVISION looks at the highly underrated dark romantic comedy spy thriller GOTCHA! starring Anthony Edwards and Linda Fiorentino. With amazing European locations and a killer soundtrack, this gem from REVENGE OF THE NERDS director Jeff Kanew got lost in the shuffle when released in the summer of ’85. Yet, it found an audience on video and spawned a mildly controversial paint gun toy line and a Nintendo game! Did you know the other ‘80s heartthrobs who were considered to star? How did the movie’s shocking twist get inspired by the casting process? Find out, learn more, and as always SUBSCRIBE!

And if you sit to the end, you might get a little rare surprise…

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: DEEP DIVE – WORTH WINNING (1989)

This DEEP DIVE edition of Unfinished Business TELEVISION looks at one of the last romantic comedies of the ‘80s (and probably the worst) in 1989’s WORTH WINNING. Pre-NCIS hunk Mark Harmon plays a Philly weatherman engaged in a bet to please 3 women to fall for him and accept a marriage proposal. Why was movie more creepy than charming and why wouldn’t it be made today? Find out and SUBSCRIBE!
